Nokia N96 Will Be First Released in India- In September

 

One of the most awaited smartphones of 2008, Nokia's brand new N96, will be first released in India, ahead of all the other countries that expect the handset's commercial availability.

The Indian division of Nokia has presented the N96 during a recently-held event, saying that Indian users would be able to buy it starting September. The retail price of the new Nseries smartphone will be somewhere around 36,000 INR (828 USD or 526 Euros).

This kind of price undoubtedly makes the N96 out of reach for many mobile users across India. However, if we think about all the features that Nokia has packed into the smartphone, the price is somehow justified.

 

According to Tech2, the Indian version of N96 will be special, coming with pre-loaded Bollywood content, including: the Om Shanti Om movie (full-length), around 50 music videos and lots of songs in both English and Hindi. The smartphone will have three full N-Gage games as well as the maps of India, Singapore and the UAE.

As for the "normal" features of the new Nseries, these include: a 2.8 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and QVGA resolution, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash and video recording, GSM and HSDPA connectivity, a huge internal memory of 16GB (expandable via a microSD or microSDHC card), GPS, Wi-Fi, full HTML browser, email, Media player with lots of formats supported, a 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio with RDS, TV out and DVB-H TV receiver, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and many others.

The N96 runs on Symbian S60 3.2 Edition and comes with a dual-sliding design that unveils an alphanumeric keypad as well as music and video controllers.

 

Customers in India can pre-book an N96 on Nokia's official website, found at this address. After pre-booking (which requires a 4,000 INR fee), you should be pretty sure that you'll be among the first Indian users to own a Nokia N96 - but only in September, as the handset will not be available before.

[ Nokia Club Bangladesh ] Please do not respond to the appeal of a hacker who hijacked my e-mail address

Hi,
 
Last Sunday you might have received the following e-mail. This is a SCAM. A cyberspace hijacker hacked into this e-mail address of mine and took it over. I lost the access. After getting in to this e-mail address, the hijacker sent the following e-mail to the persons in my contact list in this e-mail address. Everybody received the same e-mail as furnished below:
 
Please do not respond to this e-mail, if you did not do it before. I just recovered my e-mail address an hour ago. The first thing I am doing is informing you all (in my e-mail CONTACT List) that it was sent by a wrong person (a hacker/hijacker of this e-mail address) and not me. He used my name and my e-mail address. I just wonder how he broke my password!
 
My earnest request to you all that the "Urgent Help Appeal" as depicted in the following e-mail, was SCAM and so please do not send any money to London, England, through Western Union. I have not gone to London. I  am not traveling to Europe with any programs. I did not loose my wallet. I do not want any money from anybody. I am perfectly alright and solvent. Please do not help a hijacker/hacker by sending any money.

Nokia introduced today a new addition to its premium Arte-series. The new Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte stays faithful to the family tradition, and the exquisite finish is yet again tinged with a touch of distinctive personality.

Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte is cast in the same mold as the Arte and the Sapphire Arte. The materials used are different this time, carbon fiber with etched 3D patterns dominating the exterior. And yes, it does remind us of the LG KF750 Secret's battery cover too.

The new Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte will feature the turn-to-mute and tap-for time features that we got to know in the original Arte. Those use the built-in accelerometer to show the time by simply taping twice on the case or mute calls by turning it over. In fact, the only difference in functionality is the internal memory, which has grown to 4GB now.

Some of the other features of the Carbon Arte include a 3 megapixel auto focus camera, 2" OLED screen with scratch resistant coating. There is also 3G support, as well as Bluetooth and microUSB on-board.

 

Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte will become available in the 3rd quarter of the year (meaning it's got a month or so) at an estimated retail price of 1100 euro before subsidies or taxes. A wide range of exquisite accessories will ship with the handset. Well, with a price-tag like that they'd better do.
