Dear All,
Election is good to set up a democratic system but the politicians who will come in power by election must be non-corrupted, moderate, patriotic, secular, and most importantly who want to keep the country running smoothly without violences and keeping steady progress in all fields - social, political, financial, security, education, employment, subsistence, health, residence, home affairs, foreign affairs, etc. et al. They (politicians) must create a situation where all people regardless of their identity can trust and depend on the Government for their lives, security, and protections.
Unless people can vote them (the politicians) in-and-out easily, and take away power when they (politicians) loose the trust, and can take them (politicians) to the court for any trace of corruptions (should it be monetary, political, administrative, equal opportunity, or anything in the portfolio), and can voice strongly against them for their unlawful and unethical acts through some some established processes and channels (and not just by hartals, violences, killings and breakings), the situation of the country will not be changed just by a mere election, bringing all the notorious corrupted and proven unpatriotic hoarders into the Administration of the Government.
Whatever happens on the ground that are beyond the means of the people of the country, let all the patriotic people be engaged in educating the mass and creating the civil society organizations to prepare the ground for the future towards achieving these milestones. Nothing will happen overnight. A long time and severe hard work will probably help us achieving these goals, sometimes, someday, in someone's lifetime (may noy be in ours).

| It is indeed a critical times for Bangladesh and I am not sure if this will change next 100 years unless miracle happens. I can see most of the looters are in the nomination and most of them were paralyzed or had heart attack within last few years. This "Pungu" politicians will run next Bangladesh Govt, so I have very little hope for the next 5 years who ever wins since both sides are controlled by God fathers and Pongu. I have tried many times to put new blood in this political systems in Bangladesh but no progress was made since God Fathers and looters are controlling both parties. I like to be wrong about my perception about them and I will withdraw my statement once someone can prove me wrong. God Bless Bangladesh and Her 160 Million People. Regards, M. M.
