Sony Ericsson have just announced their very own multimedia monster -the Sony Ericsson Idou. It's pronounced 'I do' but Sony Ericsson saythey will market the phone under a different name.
Sony Ericsson unveiled its prototype Idou smartphone. With a 3.5-inchtouchscreen display and a 12.1 megapixel camera, the high-end mobiledevice will be released under the company's new Entertainment Unlimitedumbrella later this year. The phone will run the first version of theSymbian Foundation(INFO)'s operating system, which is based uponS60(INFO) 5th edition, and features intuitive touch controls, a Xenonflash, and true 16:9 wide screen viewing.
The "Idou" title is only a placeholder; the company will give it acommercial name closer to release. Entertainment Unlimited is SonyEricsson's next step in integrating communication and entertainment onmobile devices. The brand combines the best of Sony Ericsson's Walkmanmusic platform, Cyber-shot imaging experience, and Java gaming andmessaging services. It also seamlessly integrates mobile phones withhome consumer devices like TVs, PCs, and HiFi systems. Users will haveaccess to thousands of applications and will be able to downloadcontent over Sony Ericsson's PlayNow service.
